Universal Dementia Caregivers is dedicated to educating caregivers, families, and communities supporting loved ones with Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related diseases. As a trusted resource in helping caregivers manage the social, spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of those suffering from the disease, we strive to offer real benefits to caregivers especially those in need-based communities.

Paula S. Duren, PhD founded Universal Dementia Caregivers (UDC). After years of caring for both of her parents as they steadily declined in memory and awareness, Paula discovered the techniques for addressing the emotional well-being of caregivers and patients.,

Paula earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Southern Illinois University; where she also completed a Masters in Counseling. She has a second degree in Library Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.

Before founding UDC, she spent eight years at Ford Motor Company as an Internal Consultant and Human Resources Specialist. She was also a Staff Psychologist and member of the faculty at Illinois State University. Dr. Duren has served as adjunct faculty at Wayne State University and Henry Ford Community College.
